About the Guest Speaker…. Steven Graves
After a career in the United States Air Force, as an avionics technician, supervisor, and master instructor, Steven has held a number of positions in the aerospace and electronics fields. Since leaving the military service, he has worked as a customer service representative, technician, designer, CAD technician, field technician, shop manager, technical writer, and training coordinator in the aerospace and communications fields.
Recently, as the training coordinator, duties have included creating training courses, both live and video training, for AEC Inc. The courses have ranged from training department trainers to using the custom writing tools their programmers have developed. Steven has been training new writers on the basic tools and procedures before they move on to their ‘on the job’ training.
For the last two years Steven has also been training writers on Simplified Technical English (STE) using video courses created at AEC. As part of the course creation and administration, Steven has created, corrected and provided feedback for STE quizzes. In the process of training the writers for STE, he has been able to see where writers commonly encounter difficulties. One thing identified that helped the writers, was to modify an existing FrameMaker plug-in, for detecting many STE errors.
We hope you can join us for this informative webinar session.
